1. Snacking and Shopping

    [Edited and re-posted]

So yesterday afternoon (Wed Feb 22nd) was a splendid (hah I just used the word splendid) day of walking around shopping at all the little malls and kiosques and stalls around the kowloon area in Hong Kong. The shopping I don’t need to discuss, but the snacking… oh boy the snacking. It was already a day destined to be filled with food.

After my simple breakfast (as explained in my previous post) I went out for dim sum with my great aunt 11 and second cousin Winnie.

As expected, dim sum here > dim sum Ottawa. As if that even needed to be said… Had the basic staples of dim sum (shrimp dumplings, bbq pork buns, etc) but also had lots that are not readily available in Ottawa. I cannot exactly remember the name of the place currently, but I’m likely to return.

A while after dim sum, I went shopping with Winnie for various things, and during which I had 3 very traditional Hong Kong style snacks.

Cannot convey how delicious everything was. Oh my freaking god. That last one… It is what I imagine heaven to taste like. If heaven was real…. and if it was a food item…. or at least had some sort of taste….
